Let's Party-Part 2

Today I'm joining Kelly's party at Teacher Idea Factory.
I just discovered her blog last week and love!
You should definitely visit her!
Her party is all about things we couldn't live without in the classroom!

Well, okay! Let me get started!

1-This! My MAC PRO!
I've only had it one year but truly don't know what I'd do without it now.

2-LLI-Leveled Literacy Intervention from Fountas and Pinnell.
Do you know these ladies? Well you should get to know them if you don't.
If you use Guided Reading in your classroom and want thorough and engaging lessons, then you need to check out LLI!
I only wish I were paid to plug this program. I really do love!

Find your set at Heinemann. You won't be disappointed!

3-My Take Turns Bucket.
You may think I'm nuts, but this small $1 item is a life saver!
Read about it here.

4-Book Boxes for sorting themes, authors, series, etc.
These boxes keep my books oh, so organized.
I keep them in my closet and take them off the shelf as needed.

5-THIS pencil sharpener!
No more noisy, pencil eating, easily broken sharpeners for me!
I love this thing!
I'll post more about it later this week.
There may be a giveaway involved!

Can't wait to see what you couldn't live without!

  1. I've had my MacBook Pro for a year too. It's probably one of the best purchases ever! Love it.

  2. Whoop . . . whoop . . . thank you so much for joining up with all of us! I loved reading about all of your Rockin' Resources. I am going to have to get that sharpener now. I have seen it pop up quite a few times lately and I just so happen to be in the market for one as a sweet little kiddo of mine jammed a crayon into my sharpener last month :). Happy weekend and thanks again!

  3. Hi Laura,
Love the book boxes. I listed my on my obsession linky. Check it out:) Question- do you level any books and are are these boks you put out for the kids or just for lessons?

    1. Hi, Tammy!
I do not place levels on any of my books, just the guided reading books we use. I allow the kiddos to use all the books in the room. I know I'm taking a chance, but once I read them aloud, they want to read them, too.

When I begin a unit, I take that box out of the closet and place the books in their theme/author book basket. I hold onto Read-alouds until I'm ready to use them. They go in the book basket after that. Make any sense??
      Happy summer!

  4. I love the F&P LLI kits. We have all three kits in our building. I also like your idea for sorting your books by theme. Great idea!

  5. I agree, Mac is the way to go! And I have a similar bucket - works wonders!
